Diamond Jubilee Celebrations
June 1st - 5th
2012 marks Her Majesty, The Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and all over the
country there will be celebrations to mark this momentous occasion.
Boughton Monchelsea will be joining with the national celebrations by
holding a variety of fun and exciting events over the extended Jubilee
Bank Holiday weekend. Starting on Saturday, June 2nd, and going through
to Monday, June 4th, there will be a street party, funfair and stalls,
garden safari and best dressed house competition, beacon lighting and
various other events
A lot of hard work is required to organise a series of events such as
this - and of course, there is a great deal of satisfaction when it all
comes together. the process of organising the celebrations for Boughton
Monchelsea is now in full swing, but more volunteers are needed to help
create an amazing spectacle for the whole village that will be the envy
of our parish neighbours.
All are welcome to come along to the organisning meetings, which are
normally held on the third Saturday of the month in the Scout Hut,
to contribute, and get involved. The more people that get involved, the
better the celebrations will be.
